CBD Coconut Oreos

These are definitely going to be the best thing you’ve ever tasted! We’ve wanted to create a raw oreo treat for awhile now and couldn’t be happier with how these turned out. The ingredients are simple, the flavors are on point, and it’s so hard to eat just one. These CBD Coconut Oreos are completely raw, gluten free, and refined sugar free and they put the original, junk-filled oreos to shame. The cookies are fudgy, chewy, and perfectly sweet and the cream filling is a super rich coconut cream that tastes like frosting – basically, your pleasure centers will be lit with each bite you take!


Now let’s talk about the CBD part of these oreos. We’ve been curious about using CBD oil in a recipe and decided what better way than to put it with a sweet chocolate treat. We substituted the CBD oil for part of the coconut oil in the recipe and it worked out perfectly. The flavor is minimal and the overall texture is just like chocolate cookie dough. CBD oil is mostly CBD with trace amounts of THC from the hemp plant, which means the oil is non-psychoactive. CBD works to regulate homeostasis, the body’s natural state of balance, and helps reduce inflammation, promotes relaxation, and increases appetite. So, while you’re enjoying one or three of these raw oreos, just know you’re also doing your body a favor!


These CBD Coconut Oreos are one of our favorite things we’ve created since having the Nibs & Greens blog and we really hope you try them out! The recipe is simple, the ingredients are easy to work with, and you’ll probably have trouble sharing with anyone.



Vanilla Coconut Cream

1 can coconut cream, separated - use thick cream + 2T water from the can

½ cup frozen coconut meat

¼ cup maple

2 tsp. vanilla

Dash of salt

CBD Chocolate Cookies

2 cups almond flour

1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut

3/4 cup cacao powder

1 tsp. mesquite powder

Dash of salt

1 Tbsp. melted coconut oil

1 Tbsp. CBD oil

2 tsp. raw honey

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 cup packed medjool dates, pitted


Vanilla Coconut Cream

  1. Blend all ingredients until smooth. Set in the fridge until thick (~2-3 hours, or overnight).

CBD Chocolate Cookies

  1. In your food processor, combine all the dry ingredients.
  2. Add melted coconut oil, CBD oil, honey and vanilla and process again. With the processor still going, gradually add in the medjool dates until everything is combined and the mixture is sticky when pressed together.
  3. Using a small cookie scoop, scoop out 28 balls and flatten on a lined plate or pan.
  4. Place the cookies in your fridge or freezer to harden.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. Once the cream has thickened up and the cookies are hardened, spread a layer of the cream (about ¼ inch thick) on the flat side of half the cookies and sandwich with the remaining cookies.
  2. Eat immediately or return to your freezer in an airtight container. We love eating these cookies right out of the freezer since they’re like ice cream sandwiches! Or you could keep them stored in your fridge for a less frozen version.
